James and his Spring Snowman :) |
James Peter Age 2 |
James:
- You are so Smart. Every Day I am AMAZED at how much you are learning. You can count to twenty, say your alphabet, and speak in full sentences
- You love to wrestle with your dad. It is your favorite part of the day
- You love Curious George (aka "George the Monkey and his friend") and you still LOVE Toy Story.
- You can sing the lyrics to "you've got a friend in me," "I will go sailing no more," and "Woody's roundup"
- You like to play pretend, and mainly you like to pretend that you are cowboy woody, dad is buzz lightyear, mom is Jessie, and Sam is Bullseye. We have all sorts of fun trying to defeat emperor zerg.
- You are such a good big brother. You will play with Sam, help mom change his diapers, and you love to give him big kisses on his head. I hope you two can become the very best of friends
- Speaking of friends, you ask me EVERY day if we can go see you cousins. Every morning you tell me you miss them and want to go play with them. You have even been having dreams about them. Apparently Eli has been stealing your toys in your dreams :)
- You are a very well behaved child and rarely get into trouble. You are a very good listener and are good natured. You do have your tantrums, but thankfully they are usually short lived. You can be a little stubborn. Yesterday I cut up a kiwi for lunch and you refused to eat it without even trying it. I told you that you had to at least try a bite. 3 spankings and 1 timeout later you tried a bite, then proceeded to eat the whole thing, and ask for another.
- You wear size 2T pants and 4T tops (I wonder who you are going to be built like) Broad shoulders, long torso, long arms, little waist, and average legs.
- You love to play outside and especially go to the park. You have no fear this year, and will go flying down the slides.
- You know your age, mom's age, dad's age, Sam's age (which is zero, like a circle BTW) and when we ask you how old grandpa Steve is, you smile coyly and say "grandpa Steve is old"
- I cant believe you will be 3 years old in just a few short months!
I love baby toes :) |
Samuel
- You are now 4 months old! Yikes. You are getting so big.
- You are a very sweet boy. You love to smile at mom and dad, especially in the morning. You are fairly good natured. You usually go from happy and smiling to crazy all out screaming in about 30 seconds if something is wrong. You will, however, calm down fairly quickly once we hold you / feed you / put you to sleep
- You sleep through the night! Yeah! You usually go to bed around 9:00pm and will sleep till around 7:00am. Mom and Dad greatly appreciate this. You usually take 2 or 3 naps during the day. You can nap just about anywhere, but you prefer to sleep in your crib or the swing.
- You are still exclusively nursing / bottle feeding breastmilk. You will usually eat every 2-3 hours during the day for 20 minutes at a time.
- I can still squeeze you into some of your 3 month clothes, but you fit better in your 6 month stuff. You are in size 2 diapers.
- You enjoy you jumperoo, bumbo, and floor mat activity center. You are finally starting to enjoy playing with toys. Usually you are just trying to stuff them in your mouth
- You chew on your hands like crazy. No teeth have popped through yet, but I'm guessing you will get one in the next couple of months
- We still swaddle you when you nap. You occasionally take a paci, but you don't have to have it
- You wear your hearing aids whenever your are awake. You are getting your 3rd set of molds this week. Hopefully your growing will start slowing down now. We have 2 girls come weekly to see how your are developing and give mom and dad information. Next month you start testing again to teach you how to recognize sounds so they can better assess your hearing abilities.
- You do very well at daycare, and love to just watch the older kids play, especially your older brother
- You and mom went on you first plane ride to see family in Atlanta. You did fantastic, and sleep all 4 flights. You made traveling so easy. I got lots of compliments on how well behaved you were.
