Nates new digs!

So here is the "renovated" "studio" that Nate will be living in in Minot. It's the basement of an old church that costs the same as our mortgage!

NAte started yesterday. So far so good! More updates to come soon.

Sorry For the orientation and quality. Nate took the pics on his phone.

Picture Update

It has been a while since I have updated, so I thought I would just put up an assortment of pictures of James from the last month.  We have been busy enjoying our last few weeks of summer.  James is walking running like a pro.  He loves to be chased around the house :)  He has also tapped in to his knack for destruction.  Every time i turn around he is tearing something up, pulling something out, throwing something, or trying to climb one the furniture.

James also has his sweet moments.  He love to give high-fives, give kisses and hugs, or sit quietly while we read him books.  OH BOOKS!  How he LOVES books!  All day long he carries one around.  He can't quite say it right, it sounds more like "booooh" but he tries.  He love to be read to, but if mom and dad are busy, he will sit and look through his books himself.

I believe James is starting to get him one-year molars in.  He has been super fussy and whiny, waking up at night, and not wanting to nap.  Then, today, his poop was bight green.  Like melted green crayon green.  I was, needless to say, a little shocked.  So, I looked it up on the Internet (like any responsible parent would do) and read that it is sometimes caused by teething.  Something to do with the saliva  changes.  So anyway, I guess we will have to live with his neon green poop for a while.

Here is a picture of James and his Dog he got for his birthday.  He loves to ride him and pretend that he is a real dog.  He even gives him kisses :)

Reading mom's magazines?

NOPE.  MR. Destructo strikes again.

James loves to "help" by putting things away. The other day he decided to put his shoes away in the kitchen cabinet (the one drawer that isn't James-proofed)  This day he decided the hangers went in his toy bin.

He is just such a cutie.  It's hard to stay mad when he gives me looks like this.

Playing in the grass.  He loves to squat down and explore what's around him.

Dad came home while we were outside playing.  James decided to feed Nate what he had found when he was exploring.

My two boys.

This is one way I can get stuff done.  I place James in his walker, put on a show (Einstein, baby babble, or blues clues) and block him in the living room with kitchen chairs.  I tried just blocking him in without the walker, but he was able to maneuver his way around the chairs, hence the walker.

James playing in his sandbox.  He likes to eat the sand.  Yesterday he licked his hand, then looked around to see if anyone saw, and licked it again.  Too bad the sand is bright blue, so his bright blue mouth usually gives him away.

Such a sweet boy

James is fascinated by instruments of cleaning (broom, mop, vacuum...) So, He was ecstatic when I let him "help" me sweep the floor.  He decided his nose sucker needed to be swept up.

So excited to see Mindy on the other side of the fence!

Peeking through to see Mindy

James would play outside with Mindy all day if he could.  He was so happy that she was outside and he could look through the fence and see her!

Bed time after a long day of playing

Playing with dad before bed. James LOVES to be chased down the hallway.  Notice the too big pajamas.  James is too big for his old jammies, and too small for his big ones, so we are in an in-between stage.  If he continues to grow at this same rate, I'm sure he'll be into his 18 month jammies before long.

Here are all of the wonderful photos Farrah Took.  I may just have to print them all, and have a wall in my house dedicated to James :)
