8 months old!!!

James is 8 months old today. He is changing so much, and I just can't believe how big he is getting. Here is what you've been up to:
  • You are 19lbs 10oz and 29in. long
  • You have just about outgrown your infant car seat, and have your new convertible seat in the Envoy. You don't really like it, but I'm hoping this summer when we can turn you around you will like it more
  • You have 4 teeth all the way through and 2 that are almost through
  • You still LOVE to eat. You eat anything and everything until it's all gone. You especially love sweet potatoes, bananas, carrots, strawberries, and apples. You can feed yourself finger foods and usually will hold up your own bottle (when you're not lazy:)
  • You eat 3 meals a day and either nurse or take a bottle 6 times a day
  • You still take a morning and afternoon nap and go to bed around 8pm and wake up around 7am.
  • You are still sleeping through the night, but are still swaddled in 3 blankets. Hopefully you will be able to stop that soon.
  • You roll around like there's no tomorrow, and really want to crawl. You smile and laugh uncontrollably when we help you on to your knees. You will sit up by yourself and contentedly play with toys we give you
  • You still love Baby Einstein. I could probably put it on repeat and you would sit and watch it all day if I let you.
  • You love being around other kids. I think yo go through withdrawals when you don't go to daycare for a few days. Dad takes you to the center court daycare when he works out, and you love to flirt with the daycare girls play in the exersaucer there.
  • You are a happy, smiley baby, and I love every single minute I get to spend with you.

I gave Jamey my empty cherry coke bottle to play with, and he went to town on the cap.

Trying so desperately to learn to crawl!

Showing his teeth. He won't let me look at his top two teeth, but he definitely has all four in

Seems like yesterday I was bringing this little monster home from the hospital and setting his teddy bear next to him and marveling and how they were almost the same size, and now he is SO much bigger!

Trying on our new summer sun hat. Now, if only the summer would come!

James love to play with his feet. He takes his socks off 100 times a day, and I patiently (or not so patiently) put them back on again. He then chews on his feet.

This is how Jamey looks when he is incredibly frustrated with mom for taking way too many pictures when he is hungry and ready for a nap. To give him some credit for being cranky, he is also currently quite sick with a cold. I won't even describe what I had to suction out of his nose today :)

Definitely has my skin tone :)

reminiscing

This week I am feeling very nostalgic as I think about how much has changed this last year. One year ago this is how I looked:
I was about 20 weeks pregnant, and as you can tell from the mess behind me, we were just about to move into our house. Tomorrow (19th) It will be one year that we have lived here. I have loved so much about living in our own place, but most of all I have loved that we have had so much room for James to grow and play On a side note, a year after moving to Minnesota, I still haven't changed my drivers licensee (please don't tell the cops, I hear its a pretty hefty fine)

I wished we would have taken more video of Jamey when he was an infant. This is the only one we have of him when he was just a few weeks old.

It's hard to believe that my little munchkin has gone from this scrawny little munchkin:

To this chubby little monster:

Well that's enough nostalgia for one evening. I'm off to work to help bring more little munchkins into this world.

shower, pickles, and babble

Nate has been taking James in the shower with him, and Jamey just LOVES it!

We gave Jamey a pickle last night, just to see if he would like it...

He didn't.

Still happy :)

Nate works so hard to make homemade baby food for James :) Our freezer is full of veggies for him to scarf down. Nate made me crop off his head in this picture, that's why he is headless.

Lazy Saturday

Today has just been a nice, lazy Saturday. We have just been hanging out around the house doing a whole lot of nothing. Nate made some homemade baby food for James. Sweet Potatoes, Bananas, and Spaghetti Squash are what's on the menu for Jamey this week.

It has been interesting having Nate home at noon every day. The para position he took is only part-time, so we are getting to see a lot more of him. He also got a part time position at the ELL department, so hopefully that will give him some more hours. I will be going to days/nights in the next few weeks, so it is definitely going to be a big adjustment. I have done straight nights at work for two and a half years, and so working days is going to be a big change. I am excited for it though.

Jamey is getting so darn big! 90% of the time you will find him chewing on something. He has been working on some teeth for quite some time now. A new thing he has started is grinding his top and bottom teeth together. It drives me nuts! We finally bought him his new convertible car seat. We are going to put it in the Envoy, whenever we figure out how to install the thing. It has more straps and clips and belts than we know what to do with. We might need to take it to a professional to install! Hopefully he will like it. I am looking forward to this summer when we finally get to flip him around to face us. I can't believe in only four months he will be a year old! Where did the time go!

James has been working so hard on crawling. He rocks, and scoots, and rolls, but just can quite get the crawling thing yet. For now, he just rolls everywhere he needs to go. He is getting pretty proficient at it. However, Nate and I have found him many times in the corner of his crib, after he has rolled into it and cant get out.

Jamey has been wanting to eat everything in sight lately. I let him have some of my RootBeerPopsicle today. he wasn't too sure what to think. I don't think he was a fan of it being so cold. He just feels that every time we are eating, he should be eating too. I have been giving him some club crackers whenever I am eating them, and now every time he sees a green box, he gets all excited and starts waving his arms, as if to say, "HEY, I remember those, they are good! GIVE ME SOME!" I just love that he has finally taken to food, other than milk :)

Sunny Saturday

James is getting so darn big! He has been so happy lately. Everything we do seems to make him laugh uncontrollably. I just love hearing him laugh and giggle.

He has finally started to enjoy baby food. Nate has been making homemade baby food with our food processor, and Jamey really seems to enjoy it. I gave him a chocolate chip pancake with butter and syrup the other day, and he scarfed down the whole thing, and then cried when it was gone :) I guess he is a lot like his momma, and has a sweet tooth :)

Speaking of teeth, his front two teeth are both through! I cant believe my baby has four teeth!

Here are some pictures I took the other day. Every afternoon when the sun hits our front window, James and I sit and soak up the sun and try and get some Vitamin D. Hopefully soon we will be able to go outside and feel the real thing!
