Explosive Tooting, and other such nonsense

James is Five weeks old today. I have been working on filling out my baby books for him, and it is bringing back so many memories of that wonderful day that he entered our lives.

Every day he seems to grow and change a little more. He is a very animated baby, and loves to make lots of funny faces. He is also a very cuddly baby. He loves to be held, almost constantly. He will usually sleep for 4ish hours for me at night in his pack and play, but after that he refused to sleep in it anymore. He will only sleep either next to me or laying on my chest. I know this is frowned upon, and it's not the safest way for my baby to sleep, but if he doesn't sleep like this, he wont sleep, which means I won't sleep!

I bought his new swing, the mamaRoo, but sadly it didn't work. They are sending me a replacement one next week, so hopefully that will do the trick.

James has had some crazy loud farts/explosions in his pants lately. He will just be sitting there all calmly, and then out of nowhere his face will change into a crazed expression and his butt will begin to rumble and then out will come the loudest farts I have ever heard. He will encore them will a few small ones for the next minute. He is just such a funny baby

james also hates his baths. I mean HATES them. the minute we walk in to the bathroom, he starts waleing. Once he hits the water, the screeching doubles. I usually bathe him as quickly as possible and then cuddle him up in his nice warm towels. Once he is out, he is fine. Thankfully :)

James is also a very loud snorer. (just like his daddy) He snorts and sneezes all day long. I bulb syringe oodles of boogers out of his nose daily. They just keep coming out. I feel so badly for him, because he also sounds so congested and like he just really needs to blow his nose. Sadly my booger sucker can only do so much

Well it's time to get some rest. Until next time.

My baby is One Month old!

I can't believe James is one month old already!! Time is just flying by. He is a whopping 8lbs 4oz. I don't have a tape measure, so I'm not sure how long he is, but his legs seem to be getting a little longer and chunkier. He still loves to eat, and lately I think he has been going through a growth spurt. He has been eating every 2 hours during the day and waking up every 3 hours at night. Last night I was so tired that when he woke up to eat it took me a while to realize that it had only been a half hour since he had finished eating, but he was still ready to eat again!

I have been busy at home doing all sorts of fun things like laundry, cleaning, and taking care of my little munchkin. He definitely keeps me busy, but I love every minute of being home with him, and I will be so sad to go back to work in a few weeks.

The other day I bought a swing from amazon. It's called MamaROO. I'm hoping that it will allow me to put him down for a few minutes in the afternoon so I can get some stuff done!

I also designed his birth announcements. I just need to have them printed and they will be ready to send out. My thank-you's will be coming soon as well, it has just been a little busy :) they are sitting in my "to do" pile on my counter.

Well Jamey should be ready to get up from his nap soon, and I suppose I should eat something before he does! I can't believe how fast this first month has gone, and I know that in the blink of an eye he will be all grown.

4 weeks old and my favorite things

Jamey is 4 weeks old today! I can't believe it. He is just growing so fast and time just seems to be flying by. I thought I would use this post to make a list of my favorite things.

1. The Boppy--this is so wonderful. It is so nice to use when breastfeeding or to let james rest on. I bought the organic cotton slipcover and it is so nice and soft. Definitely a purchase I am glad that I got

2. Hooter Hider--another nice investment. Great for when you are around family and it's time for baby to eat. It fits nicely around your neck so you don't have to worry about it falling down and causing some awkward exposure.

3.. Baby Bjorn--another nice gift I got from my mom. James likes to be held, almost constantly. He loves to just sit in this and walk around with me during the day when I'm doing laundry or dishes or just wandering

4. Medella Breast pump--just the best one out there. I got mine for $50 at a garage sale. A fabulous bargain

5. J.J. Cole Diaper bag--so much room. so stylish. I often get asked where I got my new purse and people are shocked when I tell them it's my diaper bag

6. Aden and Anaias receiving blankets--they are so soft and light weight and big. Plus they have such adorable designs, you just cant go wrong

7. Soothie Pacifiers--James' favorite way to soothe himself

8. Carters clothing--super cute, super soft, super durable. My favorite

These are all that I can think of for now, but I am sure there are more that I will add to the list as he continues to get older. Well it's time for my monster man to eat, and nothing stands in the way of that.

First Trip

James is 3 weeks old already! It is just crazy how fast the time is going. It feels like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. I can't believe that I will have to go back to work in just 6 short weeks. James has been such a good baby for us. He continues to love to eat and when he is not eating he loves to suck on his pacifier. He seems to be more and more animated and loves to make lots of silly faces at us He does have a little bit of a gas problem, but we invested in some mylecon drops, and they seem to do the trick. He has been sleeping better at night and still gets up 2 or 3 times to eat, but has been better about going back to sleep. We took our first car trip to Williston and then the Cabin and he tolerated it very well.

We first went to Williston to celebrate my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. It was a pretty good trip. We stayed at Grandma Kittelson's house and James did very well. He slept in his new pack and play like a champ and didn't keep his grandparents up at all.

We next traveled the 9 hours to the Cabin to spend a week with Nate's family. James was also a big hit here with all his cousins and aunts and uncles. He definitely got spoiled for the week. James and I pretty much hung out inside as it was either really hot or really cold. Nate and I did get to do some fishing and of course we played some pretty intense games of nertz with the family.

I am getting really excited for my mom and sister to come visit at the end of the month. I am sure that they are getting excited to come up here too :) It will be so nice to see them and for Tyler to meet his favorite (and only) cousin.

Life as a new mom continues to be wonderful. There are many sleepless nights and days where I count the minutes until Nate gets home, but I love my little munchkin, and my life is so blessed to have him in it.

2 week check up and a new car :)

So today was a big day. WE had Jamey's 2 week check up. He is still a little scrawny measuring in a 6lbs 9oz. Hopefully he can start fattening up soon. Otherwise everything looked good and we don't have to go back until september.

On another note, Nate and I bought a new vehicle today! This was quite an exciting deal. We had been looking for a while since we realized that we no longer fit into our honda and the camry has been acting a little off lately. We bought a 2003 GMC Envoy, and I absolutely love it. There is plenty of room for the three of us with a little room to grow :)

Jamey has been letting me sleep a little more at night. He will only sleep while I hold him though, so that is beginning to be a little bit of a problem. Hopefully he will soon learn to like his crib. We will be heading to Williston this weekend for my Grandparents 60th wedding anniversary party and then we will be off to the cabin for a week! It should be a good time and a much needed vacation for nate. Hopefully we can enjoy ourselves and even do a little fishing.

Well I need to do some laundry while Jamey is sleeping. He doesn't do it that often so I need to take advantage of it while I can.
