Samuel Steven, One Year Old

Can you believe this kid is ONE?  I know that I can't.  Well actually he is almost 13 months now.  It feels like yesterday that I was bringing him home.  Here are some Sam updates

  • Sam is WALKING.  Well, really he is running!  He tries desperately to keep up with his big brother.  He does pretty well too.  He started really getting the hang of it in early December, and has been going non-stop ever since.
  • Sam eats EVERYTHING.  He will pretty much eat until you stop giving him food.  There really is nothing he doesn't like to eat.  He still has 3-4 bottles of milk a day (lactade milk, because my boys are lactose intolerant) We have started to phase out the bottle and use the sippy cup more
  • He loves to play with our slide, his push tractor from Grandpa Peter, his animal puzzle, and his basketball hoop.  He pretty much loves to do anything with his big bro.
  • Sam sleeps through the night, but lately has been refusing to go to bed at night
  • Sam has been better about keeping his hearing aids in.  He wears his hat, and it seems to help keep them in for longer stretches during the day.  He has been meeting all of his milestones and continues to meet with infant development every week.

Christmas!

Opening up Pajamas from Grandma Jodi Christmas Eve

I worked Nights on Christmas this year.  Christmas morning I came home form work and woke the boys up and opened gifts with them before I went to bed.  James was pretty excited about his stocking!

Sam wasn't too sure what to think

James thought it was a phone....then he realized it was an iPad.

I guess it was just a little too early for Sam

oops, two of the same book :)

Nate and his Carl Landry bobble head doll from his parents....He was so confused :)

The cake....it was a glob, but Sam didn't care

So, we realized when we were lighting the candle that we were out of lighter fluid, so nate used the stove to start a piece of paper on fire to light the candle.  The things you do to make sure you child has the perfect birthday :)

Putting on his hearing aids so he can hear us singing his Happy Birthday!
